Introduction

Many think of eternity as something that starts after death. But Scripture reveals that eternity begins the moment you are born again. Eternal life is not just duration—it’s a quality of life that begins now.

"Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ."
— John 17:3 (NIV)

The Christian life is life eternal—starting today and continuing forever.

1. Eternal Life Is a Present Reality

"Whoever hears my word and believes... has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life."
— John 5:24 (NIV)

If you're in Christ, you’ve already crossed over. You’re not waiting for eternity—you’re already living it.

2. It Changes How We Live Today

  • You live with hope, not fear.

  • You pursue righteousness, not vanity.

  • You store treasures in heaven, not here (Matthew 6:19–20)

Living with eternity in mind reshapes priorities, relationships, and daily choices.

3. Eternal Life Grows Deeper Daily

"Though outwardly we are wasting away, inwardly we are being renewed day by day."
— 2 Corinthians 4:16 (NIV)

Your eternal life matures in prayer, Scripture, service, and love. Heaven isn’t just a location—it’s a relationship.

Reflection Questions

  • Am I experiencing eternal life today—or just waiting to die?

  • Do I live as one already seated in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6)?

  • How can I deepen my daily walk with God?

Jesus loves you

Published on:  10 May 2025 Author: Ephzibah Behulah Estimated reading time: 4 minutes Introduction The Bible speaks of a divine record— The Book of Life —in which are written the names of those who belong to God. This is not poetic symbolism; it’s a literal registry of eternity. "Nothing impure will ever enter it... but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life." — Revelation 21:27 (NIV) The most important question you can ask yourself today is: Is my name written there? 1. What Is the Book of Life? The “Book of Life” is mentioned throughout Scripture (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:5). It contains the names of those who have received salvation through Jesus Christ. "But rejoice that your names are written in heaven." — Luke 10:20 (ESV) Being a good person is not enough. Church attendance is not enough. Only faith in Jesus secures your name in tha...

But the Gospel still speaks. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation." —  Romans 1:16 (ESV) Even when society ignores eternity,  we must not be silent . The truth is too important, and the time is too short. 1. People Still Want Meaning Many hide behind logic or science, but beneath the surface,  they’re hungry for purpose . The Bible says: "He has put eternity into man's heart." —  Ecclesiastes 3:11 (ESV) Our role is not to win arguments, but to  awaken hearts  to what they already sense: that life is more than now. 2. Let Your Life Be the Sermon "In your hearts honor Christ... always being prepared to make a d...
