Introduction

Hell is not a myth, metaphor, or medieval fear tactic. Jesus Himself spoke more about hell than anyone else in Scripture—not to scare us, but to save us.

"Do not fear those who kill the body... rather fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell."
— Matthew 10:28 (ESV)

Ignoring hell doesn’t make it disappear. Pretending it’s not real is spiritual suicide. Hell is the eternal destination of all who reject Christ.

1. What Is Hell?

Hell is described as a place of:

  • Fire and torment (Luke 16:24)

  • Darkness and isolation (Matthew 25:30)

  • Eternal separation from God (2 Thessalonians 1:9)

It is not God's desire for anyone to go there (Ezekiel 18:23), but He allows us the freedom to choose.

2. Jesus Came to Save Us From It

"For God so loved the world... that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
— John 3:16 (NIV)

The cross was not just about pain; it was a rescue mission from eternal punishment. The wrath we deserve, He bore.

3. The Narrow Way Still Exists

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate... that leads to destruction."
— Matthew 7:13 (NIV)

Many ignore eternity until it’s too late. But you can choose now—the narrow way of faith, surrender, and life.

Reflection Questions

  • Do I live as though hell is real?

  • Have I warned others, lovingly and truthfully?

  • Am I truly rescued—or just religious?
